Después de una larga y accidentada búsqueda, encontró al Príncipe (que se había disfrazado de lobo para participar en una de sus despreciables fiestas orgiásticas) en un bosque de Nebraska. Los dos se miraron a los ojos sabiendo lo que iba a ocurrir después y Caperucita cumplió el juramento que hizo en el lecho de muerte de su madrastra, engañada también por el príncipe, que la convenció de que era culpable de todas las desgracias de su reino, por lo que se volvió loca y poco después la hallaron gritando al espejo de su habitación, fuera de sí. «Todo eso quedó atrás, Príncipe. Toma un poco de toda la amargura que nos has dado» Y Caperucita le arrojó, con furia feroz, estrellas shurikens empozoñadas de veneno, odio y venganza.
