Estaba buscando por ahí ilustradores islandeses porque siento cierta afinidad por los países que he ido visitando (e Islandia es un sitio envidiable, a pesar de lo mal que lo están pasando en estos momentos de crisis) y me he tropezado con una web sobre el mundo de los trolls: «TrollMoon». En ella se encuentran ilustraciones y pinturas de diferentes artistas nórdicos y sus interpretaciones de estos personajes considerados fantásticos en todos los países excepto en Islandia donde, según sus habitantes, siguen existiendo y viven escondidos entre las piedras volcánicas y otros paisajes como salidos de los cuentos. Cuando estás allí, es fácil preguntarse si los trolls son irreales o es uno mismo el personaje de ficción dentro de otro mundo.

I was looking for icelandic illustrators because I have some affinity for the countries I have been visiting (and Iceland is an enviable, despite how badly they are going in this time of crisis) and I encountered a site about the troll’s world called «TrollMoon». There are illustrations and paintings by various nordic artists and their interpretations of these fantastic characters considered not real in all countries except in Iceland where, according to its inhabitants, they still exist and live hiding among the rocks and other volcanic landscapes such as emerging from the stories. When you’re there, it’s easy to wonder if the trolls are unrealistic, or maybe you are the fiction character in another world.
