Fears of the Dark, produced in 2008, is a black & white animation film from great illustrators and comics authors: Blutch, Charles Burns, Marie Caillou, Pierre di Sciullo, Jerry Kramsky, Lorenzo Mattotti, Richard McGuire, Michel Pirus and Romain Slocombe. Each one, in his unique style, have a different horror story in this movie, wich has the art direction of Etienne Robial.
Hace tiempo que busco una historieta de Zipi y Zape, del genial dibujante Escobar. Se trata de «El tunel del tiempo», álbum en el que estos hermanos gemelos viajaban en el tiempo (en la ilustración, el futuro perfecto en el que no hay que estudiar porque todo se aprende ingiriendo un comprimido). ¿Hay alguien ahí que pueda conseguirlo? Prometo recompensarle, al menos, con un humilde dibujo 🙂
I seek a Zipi Zape’s long story, from the brilliant cartoonist Escobar. It is «The barrel of time», a comic where the twins traveled in time (in the illustration, the perfect future in which it’s not necessary study because you learn by ingesting a tablet). Anybody there can get it? I promise to reward, at least, with a humble picture:)
Como el tipo de la ilustración, este agosto (ya va casi la mitad del mes) me quedo de vacaciones en casa. Al menos, mis razones son muy diferentes. Este cartel fue realizado por Albert Dorne para la Oficina de Transporte Militar durante la II Guerra Mundial, pretendiendo que todos los ciudadanos norteamericanos ahorren gasolina, dejándola para el uso militar, y no viajen, sobre todo a Europa, claro.

As the guy in the illustration, this August (and is almost half of the month) I am on vacation at home. At least, my reasons are very different. This poster was done by Albert Dorne for the Office of Defense Transport during World War II, claiming that all U.S. citizens to save fuel, leaving it for military use, and not traveling, especially to Europe, of course.

Trabajando con mi tableta Wacom, Darío, mi pequeño, se acercó a ver lo que estaba haciendo. Le senté sobre mis rodillas y dejé que cogiera el lápiz. Yo iba cambiando los colores y le salió esto antes de pasar a golpear el lápiz contra la tableta. Le interrumpí, por bien de la herramienta. ¡Su primer contacto con el arte digital!
Working with my Wacom tablet, Dario, my baby, came to see what I was doing. I sat him down on my knees and let seized the pencil. I was changing the colors and this was the result, little before going on to tap the stylus against the tablet. I interrupted him, for the sake by the tool. His first encounter with digital art!
