Me encanta ver las portadas de las viejas novelas baratas de ciencia ficción. Y seguro que en el futuro, la diáspora de la étnia gitana llegará al espacio. Lo que no entiendo es si el tío de la ilustración de este libro de Poul Anderson es gitano y, si lo es, es teñido o natural. ¡Ah, la ciencia ficción nos lleva a mundos lejanos mientras en el presente ya ni siquiera nos sonrojamos cuando pasamos velozmente en nuestros coches cerca de un poblado chabolista!

I love seeing the old covers of cheap science fiction novels. And surely in the future, the diaspora of the gipsyes will reach the space. What I do not understand is if the guy in the illustration of this book of Poul Anderson is a gypsy, and if so, is dyed or natural. A punto de estrenar la versión cinematográfica de «Bola de Dragón» (que tiene bastante mala pinta, la verdad), ahí va un dibujo de uno de mis personajes preferidos de esta serie que, a pesar de toda su violencia, resultaba bastante entretenida, sobre todo la primera serie: a mí, Goku me pareció más divertido con cola.

Zhora es el nombre de la replicante que huye de Deckard, recorriendo las populosas y húmedas calles de la distópica ciudad de Los Ángeles diseñada para Blade Runner. Siempre he pensado que la fotografía que sirve de pista al detective es una de las imágenes más sugerentes de esta película. ¿Qué hay más allá de ese personaje cuyo pasado no existe pero que ha vivido quién sabe qué aventuras junto a Roy en la Puerta de Tannhäuser (que por cierto es una invención de los guionistas que se ha convertido en una de las frases más célebres del cine)?. Me encantaría tener ese aparatito para ver, en las superficie bidimensional de una fotografía, qué hay detrás de las columnas o si los androides sueñan con ovejas eléctricas.

Zhora is the name of the replicant fleeing Deckard, touring the populous and wets streets of the dystopian city of Los Angeles designed to Blade Runner. I always thought that the photograph that serves as a track to the detective is one of the most evocative images of this movie. What lies beyond that character whose past has not lived there but who knows the adventures with Roy in the Tannhäuser Gate (that is an invention of the screenwriters that has become one of the most famous phrases of the movies)?. I would love to have that machine to see, in the two-dimensional surface of a photograph, behind the columns or whether androids dream of electric sheep.
