Como el tipo de la ilustración, este agosto (ya va casi la mitad del mes) me quedo de vacaciones en casa. Al menos, mis razones son muy diferentes. Este cartel fue realizado por Albert Dorne para la Oficina de Transporte Militar durante la II Guerra Mundial, pretendiendo que todos los ciudadanos norteamericanos ahorren gasolina, dejándola para el uso militar, y no viajen, sobre todo a Europa, claro.

As the guy in the illustration, this August (and is almost half of the month) I am on vacation at home. At least, my reasons are very different. This poster was done by Albert Dorne for the Office of Defense Transport during World War II, claiming that all U.S. citizens to save fuel, leaving it for military use, and not traveling, especially to Europe, of course.

Este vídeo de Röyksopp, donde todo son frías representaciones gráficas de una realidad deshumanizada, tan sólo estadísticas, fue dirigido por el studio H5.

This Röyksopp’s videoclip, where all things are cold graphic representations of dehumanized reality, only statics, was directed by studio H5.

Ha muerto con 95 años Budd Schulberg, escritor de «¿Por qué corre Sammy?» y guionista de «La ley del silencio», «Un rostro en la multitud» y «Más dura será la caída». Ya quedan muy pocos fabuladores de la época del blanco y negro. Lástima, porque en estos tiempos de CGI y 3D, son ellos los que de nuevo pueden marcar la diferencia entre el cine anecdótico y superficial y el que nos golpea con un uppercut.

Budd Schulberg, author of «What Makes Sammy Run?» and screenwriter of «On the Waterfront», «A Face in the Crowd» and «The Harder They Fall». He was 95 years old. Are now very few writers of B&W era. It is a pity, because in these days of CGI and 3D movies, are they who can again make the difference between superficial films and that movies that strucks us with an uppercut.

Encantador videoclip de Meiko Haigo, animado por Hayao Miyazaki. Como curiosidad, la estupenda voz de Meiko ha sido utilizada como parte del banco vocal para el programa de sintetización VOCALOID creado por Yamaha y cuya función actual es, gracias a Zero-G Limited y Crypton, la creación de «personajes» virtuales que reproducen las letras que introducimos en este software actualmente utilizado en el anime.

As a curiosity, the wonderful voice of Meiko has been used as a part of the vocal bank for the synthesization software VOCALOID developed by Yamaha and whose current role is, thank to Zero-G Limited and Crypton, the creation of virtual «characters» that reproducing the lyrics that we after will introduce into the software actually used in the anime.

Pues sí, «Loaded Bible» es un cómic de vampiros protagonizado por Jesucristo (en su segundo advenimiento), quien se encarga de darles caza en un mundo postapocalíptico. A partir de esta delirante idea, Tim Seeley escribe una muy divertida historia que ilustra estupendamente Nate Bellegarde (visitad su blog). Como es obvio, Jesús tiene la ventaja de segregar saliva divina (muy similar al agua bendita), que abrasa a los chupasangres.

Well, yes, «Loaded Bible» is a comic about vampires featuring by Jesus (in his second advent), who hunting them in a future world afer an atomic war. From this crazy idea, Tim Seeley writes a very funny story good illustrates by Nate Bellegarde (visit his blog). Obviously, Jesus had the advantage of segregating divine spittle (very similar to the holy water), which make burns to the blood suckers.
